The total sum raised was $62,404.2, and eight wishes were granted. “Before the assembly we all practiced standing in line and lifting up the numbers to make sure we wouldn’t mess it up in the assembly,” Crock said. “People love giving and when you show them exactly what that giving did and how many people’s lives it affected, it is great to feel the energy of 2300 students and teachers all in one room that were all able to collaborate together and make this awesome week happen.”

After the assembly, student council members swept up the excess confetti in the gym. “We all celebrated and had cake with Fabian until we all decide to get down to business and worked for about an hour taking down all the decorations and sweeping up the confetti,” Student Council member Jojo Pearson ‘21 said.

Martin, as well as Fabian’s nine year-old brother, Carlos, were involved in events throughout the week. “It’s an interesting situation, because [Fabian’s] brother, Martin, also has the same condition that he does,” Student Council member Liam Conaty ‘20 said. “We like to make sure [the whole family] feels included. The whole week is about Fabian, but it’s also celebration of what their family has collectively endured.”

Student Council members, along with student media and Fabian’s family, celebrated the closing assembly with cake in the lunch room. “Basically, one of the kids threw their bottle, and then somebody in STUCO threw their bottle, and that one landed on its bottom,” Conaty said. “From there, we all just started flipping bottles and every time somebody landed it, we would all just cheer super hard… like, too hard.”
