Photo Recap: Wish Week Closing Assembly

One final assembly. 

After a week full of events and memories, Wish Week wrapped up with one last final assembly April 7, revealing the amount of money and Wishes the school was able to grant for the Wish Kid, Fidel. 

The assembly was held at the end of the day as a final closing to the school week. Student Body President senior Myles Rubin, Student Body Vice President senior Tyler Conybear and Principal Andrew Abner led the assembly with an opening speech on all the events the school participated in, from Walk for Wishes and Movie Night at Echo Park Stadium to Black-Light Dodgeball and Dare to Share.

At the end of Abner’s speech, students turned to watch Rock Canyon Broadcast Network (RCBN) play a video recap of the week. The video showcased the reveal of Fidel and the events students participated in to raise money for Fidel’s Wish of meeting basketball player LaMelo Ball. Over the course of eight days, the school raised $60,992.33, granting seven other Wishes in addition to Fidel’s Wish.

The decorating was awesome and it was super great to see Fidel involved this year,” Coddington said. “Decorating the pods for Fidel’s Wish was great, and seeing his reaction to the [Charlotte] Hornets pod was cool and worth the whole process.”
