BREAKING: Rock Canyon Students Walk-Out of School to Protest Mask Mandate
After the reveal of a mask mandate across all of Tri-County Health, which includes Douglas County School District, students at the school organized a protest mid-morning Sept. 1. Earlier, Tri-County Health had announced a mask mandate for students who were 2 years old to 12 years old. Then recently, after a series of meetings, Tri-County also announced that all students who were older than 2 would be required to wear masks while in school, which meant that all high schoolers would need to wear masks. In response, an Instagram account was made, @dcsd_anti_masks, that announced that there would be a district-wide walk-out at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 1. At the slated time, groups of students at Rock Canyon High School, Highlands Ranch High School, Legend High School, and several other Douglas County schools walked out of their classes to participate in the protest.
