During a warm, sunny afternoon, Nithya Palacherla ‘27, Fairy Patel ‘27 and Anika Kaja ‘28 prepare for the 2025 spring girls tennis season Feb. 24.

Approximately 60 players completed a variety of drills and two v. two matches.

“The tryouts last for a week. They [the coaches] make you play a doubles match with four people on the court so they can assess you on your serves, backhands and volleys,” Patel said. 

Fairy has been playing tennis with a club for two years and finds it fun. 

It started off as a hobby to play with my parents, but then I just joined the school,” Patel said. 

Nithya talks about her positive experience with the tryouts, highlighting the enjoyment of playing challenge matches.

“I think they went well. It was pretty fun. This is my second year playing with the school and I really enjoy it,” Palacherla said.
