Odds and Ends: Left Lunch-less

Vegetarians and vegans face a lack of in-school lunch options.

The sound of the bell rings throughout the hallway, letting students know it’s time for lunch.

Students quickly leave class to sit with their friends, get lunch and finally eat. The line quickly fills, so students, like Sophie Harris ‘26, have to wait on food, hoping for something to eat that can sustain her. However, when she sees the food, all she sees are products with meat–and a cheese pizza. But, someone grabs the cheese pizza before she can.

After waiting ten minutes, she returns to her friends with a singular slice of pizza.

Take a look into the life of a vegan or vegetarian student facing the lunch line and its limits.
