The light from the sky dims and the upper parking lot lights turn on. Spooky music plays from speakers around you as you roam the lot dressed in your costume. Each car has been decorated to match the Halloween spirit. Trunk or Treat is beginning.
The annual Trunk or Treat, hosted by Student Council, took place Monday, Oct. 30 in the school’s upper parking lot from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
“I love seeing all the kids’ faces light up when they go to each trunk and seeing the supportive community around the school,” varsity cheerleader Shea Thompson ‘25 said.
Clubs, sporting teams and all others who signed up to participate were assigned a parking spot to park and decorate cars of their choice. Candy was then handed out from car trunks or placed on tables provided by the Student Council. Halloween music was also played through speakers provided by the school.
Student Council held face painting at the welcome table and led two activities for trick-or-treaters. They hosted “Wrap the Mummy,” where students had 30 seconds to wrap their “mummy” in toilet paper, along with a ring toss.
The girls swim and dive team decorated their car and dressed as skiers for the event, handing out eight bags of candy and spending around $10 total on candy to pass out.
“We are currently in our swim preseason right now so we are just starting to get to know everyone,” varsity swimmer Sarah Myers ‘24 said. “It’s really cool to make the kids happy and bond with our teammates in the process.”
