This 1980 classic movie is about Jack Torrance, played by Jack Nicholson, getting a job to be the winter caretaker of the isolated Stanley Hotel. He brings along his wife Wendy,  portrayed by Shelley Duvall, and his son Danny, portrayed by Danny Lloyd, to the hotel for five full months. “Blood, when the blood comes out of the elevator, that was pretty fricking cool or when he is stabbing through the door and he is like ‘Here’s Johnny’,” Kaelyn New ’20 said.

This 1978 gem is the starting point of the legacy of Michael Myers, portrayed by Nick Castle. In the movie, Halloween Michael Myers starts out as a young six-year-old boy who decides to murder his 17-year-old sister. He then goes to prison for 15 years, but of October 30, 1978, Myers escapes and returns to the humble town of Haddonfield, Illinois, to find his next unsuspecting victim.”The death scenes were really good, for being that old of a movie,” Reese Cruz ’20 said.

 Mr. Roger Perron, portrayed by Ron Livingston and his wife Carolyn Perron, portrayed by Lili Taylor, and their five daughters recently moved into a farmhouse, where a non-human presence has made itself known. To try and solve the problem the Perron’s call two paranormal investigators Lorraine Warren, portrayed by Vera Farmiga, and Ed Warren, portrayed by Patrick Wilson, hoping they will be able to fix everything. Unluckily this problem escalates very fast. “[I liked it when] all their guts got ripped off, but not too much. They just thought about it and it was really cool,” Jenny Tran ’21 said.

This interesting take on a scary movie follows a husband Dan, portrayed by Simon Rex, and his wife Jody, portrayed by Ashley Tisdale, who just brought their newborn infant home from the hospital. They then find out a demon is stalking their family, they consult paranormal specialists and install cameras to drive out the spooky spirit. This movie brings up references from the “Paranormal Activity” franchise, “Mama,” “Sinister,” “Evil Dead,” “Inception,” “Black Swan” and “Rise of the Planet of the Apes.”

This movie was based on a tv show that was based on the Stephen King book. In the movie, a demon possesses an evil killing clown, pennywise portrayed by Tim Curry, and seven outcast teenagers have to go toe to toe with it. Thirty years later the clown comes back and the original seven kids reunite to finally take the clown down and I am not taking downtown I am talking about six feet underground.
