“It’s Tiiiiiiiiiime!”-Mariah Carey.
Everyone knows that tune by her. As Christmas approaches, the festive spirit fills the air and people eagerly prepare for the holiday. Families hang colorful lights around the house, remodeling their homes into a beautiful winter wonderland. Living rooms are adorned with ornaments, festive wreaths, and sparkling trees, creating a warm and alluring atmosphere. People jam to Christmas music during the Halloween season.
Christmas music ranges from religious hymns to pop, choral and rock, yet no one does it better than the ‘Queen of Christmas’ herself Mariah Carey. Celebrated for her global popularity, her famous jingle and resounding vocal range bring a sense of warmth and joy in people’s hearts as her melodies.
Mariah Carey is an internationally acclaimed American singer-songwriter and record producer, celebrated for her tremendous vocal range and penetrating whistle tones that have captivated audiences around the world. Debuting in 1990 with her self-titled album, she quickly rose to fame, showcasing her unique blend of pop and R&B. Carey has won 20 billboard awards and makes a whopping $3 million every year on her well-known Christmas album, “Merry Christmas”. No other musician does it better than the ‘Songbird Supreme’.
Throughout her illustrious career, Carey has achieved a remarkable total of nineteen number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a record that solidifies her status as one of the most successful artists in music history. In addition, she has been bestowed with six Grammy Awards, along with numerous other accolades and honors. I believe that people should have more respect for her name.
With a career spanning over three decades, Mariah Carey continues to be a powerful influence in entertainment, inspiring countless artists with her distinctive style and vocal prowess. No Christmas artist deserves her title more than she does.
“Mariah Carey makes the best Christmas music of all time and I like her Christmas albums. She has such a unique voice and it’s baffling how she makes so much money every year. ” Sneha Sah 26’ said.It still amazes me how much revenue she earns each year from an album released in 1994.
Growing up with a mother who was an opera singer, she learned how to sing from the tender age of two and now has a net worth of $350 million with 65.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Her wealth continues to grow exponentially as she pursues her musical career.
A poll was conducted to determine who is the favorite Christmas music artist, and Mariah Carey emerged as the clear winner among various artists. Her popularity and affection for her music were evident, as 15 out of 20 students voted for the “Queen of Christmas.” She truly represents the essence and spirit of Christmas music and celebration.
Mariah Carey enjoys an impressive annual income that affords her the luxury of not needing to produce any new music for the remainder of her life. Her iconic Christmas album Merry Christmas, which has become a timeless holiday classic, generates
remarkable revenue each year, especially during the festive season. The capital from her holiday hit is so substantial that it easily supports her lavish lifestyle—complete with extravagant homes, luxurious travel, and high-end fashion—without the need for additional projects.
Holiday music has proven to be an incredibly rewarding sector for those who have established a strong presence in the industry. This is particularly true for artists like Mariah Carey, whose iconic holiday albums are a staple on playlists and radio stations throughout Christmas.
One of her most beloved tracks, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,“ consistently racks millions in revenue annually. Since its release in 1994, it has garnered an outstanding $80 million and is the most popular song in her discography. The song’s timeless appeal ensures it remains a top choice for holiday celebrations, contributing to its increasing profitability. Each year, as the holiday season approaches, the demand for her music spikes, demonstrating the lasting impact and business success that can be achieved in this seasonal market. I highly recommend trying to join the carol industry as it is very profitable for people who make their mark.
The concept of the “infinite money glitch” refers to a highly profitable opportunity that generates significant revenue for those who participate. It demonstrates that, with the right approach, it is possible to achieve lasting wealth that can benefit future generations. Individuals should aim to create music that resonates with audiences because this money-making strategy is not just effective for Christmas music but also applies to other music genres. Mariah Carey is an exceptional artist who has won the hand of luck and her wealth and she has cheated the system with her irresistible notes. She is not the only artist that has benefitted from this and certainly not the last.
As long as the Christmas spirit stays alive, the Queen of Christmas will flourish through the infinite money glitch.

![Minutes before the Activities Fair in the gym, president Abhi Gowda ‘26 prepares the stall for his club Helping Hands, Sept. 4. A relatively new club, Helping Hands was co-started by Gowda and focuses on assisting the homeless, and just last year they succeeded in raising a couple hundred donations to send to shelters. This year, they have goals to expand, with hopes to increase volunteer opportunities and take in-person trips to shelters, as well as extend their help beyond just homeless people. “The Activities Fair gives a lot of underclassmen the opportunity to really get to know the Canyon culture, and it gives them many opportunities for service and volunteering,” Gowda said. “[Through the Activities Fair,] I hope to find a bunch of new and passionate members about our club and just get our name out there and spread awareness to the cause that we’re fighting for.”](https://rockmediaonline.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/09/1-2-1200x885.jpg)

The team performed to Barnes Country's “Glitter and Gold,” lead by coaches Margo Sanford, Blair Bickerton and Anna Orgren. In their class there were a total of nine groups participating, and the top five who made it to finals received a plaque. “[Walking onto the stage] is very nerve-wracking, but also very exciting as well. When you first start color guard there's a lot of anxiety and uncertainty when you first perform in front of an audience, but once you've done it for a while, it starts to become the best part of the season,” Ella West ‘25 said. “It's very fulfilling to see an audience react to something you've put your heart and soul into.”](https://rockmediaonline.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Both-socal-media-nd-website-main-1-1200x846.jpg)

![April marks the 25th anniversary of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, created by the National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC). This month is to spread awareness of the harassment, assault and abuse that happens around the world. The symbol that represented the month was a teal ribbon; however, some survivors of assault create different symbols and movements like the TikTok trend in 2022, where survivors would tattoo Medusa on their body, in honor of her backstory in Greek Mythology. “I don't think [this month is known] at all. I rarely see anybody talk about it. I rarely see much of an emphasis on posting it online, or much discussion about it, and I feel like there needs to be way more discussion,” an anonymous source said. “I think just validating every experience that a person has gone through, regardless of the degree of it, the severity, is an essential step into making sure that people are aware that this is a very real problem in a society and that we need to do better in addressing it.”](https://rockmediaonline.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/IMG_0011-1200x900.jpg)

![Lesbian Visibility Day is April 26, and it’s a holiday to celebrate the lesbian community of the world. Lesbian Visibility day was established in 2008 by many queer activists and organizations who sought to raise more awareness for lesbian history and culture. “So this is why during Lesbian Visibility [Day] we celebrate and center all lesbians, both cis and trans, while also showing solidarity with all LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary people,” Linda Reily, in an article written by her, said.](https://rockmediaonline.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Lesbian-Visibility-day.jpeg)
