It is finally starting to feel like fall. We are getting more of a breeze and the nights are getting colder and darker sooner. The temperatures are beginning to go down more and people are starting to wear cozier clothes.
According to The Weather Channel temperatures are going to start to get a little cloudier and decrease the mid 60s.
“I like the fall weather because it’s not too hot or too cold. You could wear shorts or pants and the leaves are really pretty,” Reagan Ramsey ‘29 said.
Fall officially started Sept. 22 when the Autumn Equinox happened. The Autumn Equinox is an event that marks the first day of autumn in the Northern Hemisphere. After Halloween is when it starts to get colder.
According to Coloradoan, Northern Colorado is getting freeze warnings, with temperatures dropping down to 32 F for long periods of time. People in Northern Colorado are warned to take action and put plants and outdoor animals inside. Although many people like these changes, it’s still clear that it’s starting to get cold.
“I like fall weather because I hate being so hot, so I like that it’s cooler out, and I love when it rains,” Scarlett Gilstrap ‘28.
CBS News states that fall is the most liked season partially due to the celebration of Halloween for 84% of people and Halloween is the main thing people start to think about when Fall comes around. There are also many different activities that you could do during this season because of how nice the weather is. One factor that attracts people to fall is the good balance between warm temperatures and cold temperatures.
Fall is my favorite season right now, because I love wearing cozy clothes like sweatpants and sweatshirts. The rain that Colorado is getting is also helping the environment and preventing wildfires. Finally, this weather is very pleasant and great for studying or getting homework done.

According to Keep America Beautiful, the majority of the trash found on both roads and waterways consists of fast food wrappers and packaging, receipts and plastic beverage bottles. Clubs like the National Honor Society (NHS) offer students the opportunity to earn service hours by cleaning up the trash in the parking lots. “[The trash] makes us look very unhygienic and unmotivated to be a proper school,” Emberlyse Vidal ‘28 said. “It makes us look like we just don't care about our students' environments.”](https://rockmediaonline.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/20260220_1355020-2-1200x904.jpg)
