As you take a seat at the Thanksgiving dinner table, scents roam the house, you take a minute to admire all of the warm, cozy holiday food that spans the table in front of you.
Thanksgiving is a celebrated holiday that consists of multiple parts, including spending time with family, expressing gratitude and not to forget eating a Thanksgiving meal. Americans eat the traditional foods due to the historical event where colonists and Native Americans shared a feast. Gathering together during this holiday symbolizes gratitude, community and abundance.
Students have different opinions about what their most favored parts of Thanksgiving meals are.
In a traditional holiday meal, typically the main course is turkey.
“Personally, my favorite part of my family’s Thanksgiving meal is the turkey,” Taylor Wilson ‘27 said.
While for other students they may prefer dishes in addition to the meat.
“My favorite Thanksgiving food is stuffing because I love the taste,” Alaiya Bugge ‘27 said.
With additional dishes to the meal comes the sweeter ones.
“The part of Thanksgiving foods that I enjoy the most is definitely pumpkin pie,” Kailey Cunningham ‘29 said.

According to Keep America Beautiful, the majority of the trash found on both roads and waterways consists of fast food wrappers and packaging, receipts and plastic beverage bottles. Clubs like the National Honor Society (NHS) offer students the opportunity to earn service hours by cleaning up the trash in the parking lots. “[The trash] makes us look very unhygienic and unmotivated to be a proper school,” Emberlyse Vidal ‘28 said. “It makes us look like we just don't care about our students' environments.”](https://rockmediaonline.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/20260220_1355020-2-1200x904.jpg)
