On a rainy Thursday evening at Echo Park stadium, the varsity football team faced off against Chapparal Sept. 2. The Jaguars were down 21-7 going into the fourth quarter. With less than five minutes remaining, they made a comeback to send the game to overtime with a score of 27-27 at the end of regulation. The Jaguars had the first four downs to score, ending with a field goal. The Wolverines were up next and scored on their fourth down, beating Canyon in overtime 33-30.

“I was really proud of how we came back and the loads of diversity going down and coming back from 21-0. We got a touchdown at the end of the half and I felt like a new team came out to play during the third and fourth quarter,” Coach Kevin Meyer.

The team has their first home game 4 p.m. at Echo Park Sept. 10.
