Marching to Greatness

On the sweltering morning of Sept. 24, all 60 Rock Canyon Marching Band members, dressed in black and gold, performed at the Five Star Stadium in Thornton. The Legacy Marching Festival was the first of many opportunities to show off their skills, as well as the routine they have been perfecting since July 25.
The Homecoming football game features the marching band’s routine, “Transatlantic: The Spirit of St. Louis,” during halftime on Sept. 30. Tickets are $4 for students, and $6 for adults. The game is at Echo Park Stadium, starting at 7 p.m. Be sure to catch their performance!

![Student Press Freedom Day takes place today, Feb. 22. The day celebrates the student journalists, whose rights are the same as professionals. This means that students can write about controversial topics and the administration cannot legally get involved in Colorado public schools. “[I think students should have equal rights] in principle, I think obviously, being that we’re a school, theres probably some things. I can see certain parent groups having a problem and that doesnt necessarily mean that you shouldnt write about them, but maybe [have] some kind of stakeholder.
