![On Oct. 30, 24 Eco Club members took a tour of the school’s solar panels on the roof. They were guided and taught by an employee from E Light Electric, the company that maintains the school’s solar panels, and learned about how the panels are maintained and cared for. “I was definitely very excited about being on the roof in general,” Eco Club member Olivia Fang ‘26 said. “[It was exciting to] learn more about solar panels and how they work and how they supply energy to our school.”](https://rockmediaonline.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/11/RCH_2632-1200x800.jpg)
![Ice and snow make it difficult for drivers on the road. During snowstorms, drivers have poor visibility, and frozen roads make it difficult to stay in control. “Driving home from Denver [on Friday], the neighborhoods weren’t plowed. By the time we got back they were only plowing highways. Yearbooks are available for purchase on MySchoolBucks. Books can be pre-ordered for $80 by Jan. 15, or purchased on-site at distribution in May for $100, however, on-site purchases are limited and therefore are first come, first serve.
Senior Portraits
Many families take senior photos the summer before their senior year of high school. The editorial board of the Black & Gold Yearbook is committed to ensuring every student has the opportunity for a free, professional photo in the yearbook. As such, the Black & Gold works with two photography studios to manage the nearly 600 senior portraits for the panel pages in the 2025 volume of the yearbook: Keepsake Photography and Monty Nuss Photography.
Seniors must have their photo taken by one of these photographers for their portrait to be in the book (see free day options for these photos below). Each studio has created specific opportunities for Rock Canyon seniors.
This exclusive photographer process is for senior yearbook photos only. Students are still able to use personal photos of their choice for all other purposes–senior tribute ads, graduation announcements, etc.
Seniors who do not schedule an appointment at the Keepsake or Monty Nuss studios will need to attend one of the FREE yearbook days in room 4113 at the school in August and September in order to ensure they will be included in the 2025 yearbook.
