“Number two in the rankings, but number one on the court.”

This phrase was uttered by the mouth of Coach Kent Grams before the start of the varsity boys basketball team’s first 6A playoff game against the Rangeview High School Raiders Feb. 22.

The Jaguars were placed against the Raiders in the first bracket of the Colorado High School Activities Association (CHSAA) 6A basketball playoffs. The Jaguars beat the Raiders 61-27, advancing them to the second round of playoffs. In the next round, the bracket placed the Jaguars to play against Fountain-Fort Carson High School, who they beat 61-51 Feb. 25. In the third round, known as the “Elite Eight,” the Jaguars were set to play against Regis Jesuit High School March 4 at the Denver Coliseum. The Jaguars had previously beat Regis 59-57 on Jan. 20, but, lost to Regis 46-47, ending the Jaguars’ chance at the State Championship.

The varsity boys basketball season ended with a 23-3 win/loss score.
