A look at the Jaguar community this past week.
Ihita Kataru ‘26 assembles her candy sandwich in CTE Intro to Biotech Dec. 4. Students performed a lab in which they simulated making proteins by using different ingredients to build a candy sandwich. “I like that we got to learn and that we got to eat the candy at the same time,” Kataru said. Rosie Benson ‘26 decorates a stocking with glitter glue in seventh period Newspaper Dec. 5. The activity was used to help students feed their creativity and prepare for their upcoming Secret Snowman game next week. “Decorating the stockings was a great way to relieve stress and take my mind off of finals,” Benson said. Devin Dexter ‘24 solves a practice problem on his Trigonometry final exam study guide in his car Dec. 7. Some students have begun preparing for finals in advance, including Dexter. This year, finals will take place from Monday, Dec. 18 to Thursday, Dec. 21. “I’m feeling excited to be done with the semester. Sri Nama ‘25 watches Chemistry teacher Kerry Reilly conduct a chemical reaction on Styrofoam during period three AP Chemistry Dec. 7. The experiment was used to show the soluble capabilities of Styrofoam as a solid, and was a fairly quick chemical reaction. “These experiments are really why I chose to take AP Chemistry,” Nama said. Sophia Lévesque ‘25 signs her name on the back of an elementary student’s shirt before the annual orchestra Feeder Festival Dec 7. The festival was a chance for elementary school and middle school students to see what being in high school orchestra is like, with over 200 musicians in the gym. “I love giving younger children the joy of seeing the huge high school and giving them high hopes for their futures in orchestra,” Lévesque said.
