![The winter guard team makes fifth place at the state championship finals in the Denver Coliseum, March 30. The team performed to Barnes Country's “Glitter and Gold,” lead by coaches Margo Sanford, Blair Bickerton and Anna Orgren. In their class there were a total of nine groups participating, and the top five who made it to finals received a plaque. “[Walking onto the stage] is very nerve-wracking, but also very exciting as well. When you first start color guard there's a lot of anxiety and uncertainty when you first perform in front of an audience, but once you've done it for a while, it starts to become the best part of the season,” Ella West ‘25 said. “It's very fulfilling to see an audience react to something you've put your heart and soul into.”](https://rockmediaonline.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Both-socal-media-nd-website-main-1-1200x846.jpg)

![Lesbian Visibility Day is April 26, and it’s a holiday to celebrate the lesbian community of the world. Lesbian Visibility day was established in 2008 by many queer activists and organizations who sought to raise more awareness for lesbian history and culture. “So this is why during Lesbian Visibility [Day] we celebrate and center all lesbians, both cis and trans, while also showing solidarity with all LGBTQ+ women and nonbinary people,” Linda Reily, in an article written by her, said.](https://rockmediaonline.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/04/Lesbian-Visibility-day.jpeg)

The deadline for the final version of the yearbook is this Friday, March 29. “Although I’m quite nervous and stressed about [the deadline], I’m looking forward to seeing the finished product more than anything,” Farson said. “I’ve found our book to be extremely unique from ones in past years, and it’s been so beautiful to work on. ![Ali Gustafson ‘24 accepts the “Good Citizen’s Award” in association with the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) at the Castle Pines Library Feb. 17. According to DAR Good Citizen, the award “recognizes and rewards high school seniors who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools, and community.” Gustafson was nominated by her counselor and chose to write a two hour timed essay on Nov. 28. “I am extremely grateful to have received this award as it had heavy emphasis [on] dedication and responsibility as well as patriotism. Without my time in yearbook, I would have never been able to speak to how amazing it is to be able to exercise the First Amendment. ![As the referee blows the whistle to start the match, varsity wrestling captain Noah Jadd ‘26 faces off against Boulder High School wrestler Abe Pomeroy ‘25 in his first match on day one of State Feb. 15. Jadd wrestled in the 144 weight class and lost 20-8, sending him to the first round consolation matches that took place Feb. 16. In his consolation match, Jadd wrestled Chaparral High School wrestler Dominic Cordray ‘25 and lost 5-3, which eliminated him from the tournament. “I was not happy with the outcome I had, but I’m glad I made it to State. I think [in] my first match, I didn't come out with the fire I usually have but I tried my hardest my second match. I tried my best with everything so I'm not super disappointed,” Jadd said. “[The support] made me feel really great, it added a little bit of pressure but I also felt at home with everybody and having friends and family and stuff [at State]. Banks wrestled in the 215 weight class and lost 9-8. Before the dual, the team hosted Senior Night, where math teacher and sports commentator Brian Lamb announced the wrestlers’ post-graduation plans and shared their favorite memories from their wrestling careers. The meet ended with a final score of 48-21 L. “A moment that has made wrestling worth it to me this season is when I wrestled at Battle of the Ranch,” Banks said. “Going into the tournament, I had just moved up a weight class, so I wasn’t too sure how it would turn out. ![Reagan Kerstiens ‘24 works with Ella Bendle ‘24 to brainstorm school spirit events at the inaugural Continental League Fall Super Summit at Chaparral High School Aug. 26. The summit ran from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and consisted of free breakfast, three 40-minute morning sessions, lunches from truck lunches and a final fourth session for each school to discuss what they learned that day. Over 55 Jaguars attended. “We went around listening to different speakers or student-led discussions. The first one talked about advertising and how schools have different strengths. Then, I went to a business panel with a few speakers, most of them in the construction industry, talking about the struggles of running your own business and the importance of networking.
