At the Castle Pines Golf Club, according to the Denver Post, more than 125,000 people turned out for the competition from Aug. 22 to Aug. 25. From 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Happy Canyon Road was temporarily closed from Lagae Road to Santa Fe due to the amount of people coming into the tournament, causing road closures and police supervision. 

As the tournament progressed throughout the week, Jaguars and their families and friends went to the tournament to watch. 

Tori Greer ‘25 describes her experience at the tournament with her friend, Elizabeth Lemeshewsky ‘25. 

“The BMW Championship was probably one of the coolest things I’ve been to in a while. I got to get a bunch of famous people’s autographs which was so awesome. I really enjoyed watching it because I really like golf so I understood what was happening a lot of the time,” Greer said. 

Additionally, some Jaguars worked within the Castle Pines Country Club during the BMW Championship. 

For example, Karlie Chase ‘25 was a back server for the country club; she was responsible for helping the front waiter carry out their responsibilities.  

“It was a lot of hard work and it was a no tipping club so we had to decline all the tips. But there is a fat BMW bonus, that will be well worth all the hard work,” Chase said. “I got to meet some super cool people and everyone was super nice. But it was definitely way more work than enjoyment. But the paycheck will be worth it.”
