Hi, I’m Izzy Chavez, and although this is my first year on The Rock, I have been a member of Rock Media for a few years now. After spending time as a staff member on the Black and Gold Yearbook, I am continuing my interest in journalism on the newspaper this year. I love writing about sports, as well as covering students and programs that don’t traditionally get as much praise and attention. Outside of school, I play softball (and have for 13 years) and work toward my goal of becoming a scientist. This year, I hope to write passionate articles and help keep the staff organized.
