After earning a position on the State Officer team, Jonathan Duong ‘26 hugs Sen Yakandawala ‘26 following the conclusion of the closing ceremony Feb. 15. Duong will serve as the 2025-2026 State Treasure and aims to provide more resources and connections to small TSA chapters as well as improve navigation for members at events like the state conference. “I was so glad and proud to be there with him,” Yakandawala said. “It was easily one of my favorite moments of the state conference.”

The 67th Grammys took place Sunday, Feb. 2 at the Crypto.com Center in Los Angeles, California. Hosted by comedian Trevor Noah, the show saw performances and awards, along with special recognition and fundraising for the Los Angeles fire relief efforts.

Trivia Bowl is a tradition where all seminars from around the school go against each other to see which one is the best at trivia. “I’m looking forward to winning,” Isaac Campbell ‘26 said. “We had a tough first round, but I know the second round will be better.”

At the activities fair in the gym, Advait Iyer ‘26 waits to describe his “Entrepreneurship and Business Innovators” club to various students in attendance Aug. 27. The activities fair took place during access and allowed for student-made and chapter clubs to describe their goals and activities to potential new members. About 80 clubs participated in the activities fair. “I think it’s so important for high schoolers to join clubs because it gives them a community to rely on, and it gives high schoolers more structure,” Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) club member Anouck Doublet ‘25 said.

The junior class boos freshman during the opening assembly on the morning of Aug. 23. Booing has been a long-standing tradition during assemblies, but talks of shifting it to cheering have recently circulated the school. "[Freshmen are] expecting to come in with everyone supporting them and us booing them makes them upset and sad," Daksha Gopalakrishnan ‘25 said. "I think it has a negative effect on them, they won’t be able to feel welcome or anything like that."

During the assembly the science department slingshot past Wish Week and Winter Week t-shirts into the crowds. “It was super fun to catch the shirt. It definitely shows school spirit and pride for the new year. It's definitely one of the key assemblies,” Paulson said.
