Varsity goalie Corey Clouthier ‘25 reaches for the puck during the third period versus Chaparral Jan. 20. During the final period, Chaparral scored five goals against the Sabercats, resulting in a 6-3 loss. “It was devastating to lose to Chap after a close game for the most part. We broke down in the final minutes of the game. Although it was bad, I know the boys can bounce back,” varsity forward Steven Kannenberg ‘25 said.

Varsity hockey forward Maxwell Menzies ’24 celebrates after forward Grant Siroky ’24 scored the second goal during the second period of the game Dec. 9. The varsity team played against Resurrection Christian at 6:00 p.m. at South Suburban Sports Center. The game ended with a score of 5-1 W. “Before the game, the boys are always locked in and dialed,” defensemen Easton Stockert ’25 said. “During the game, we’re focused one shift at a time, and supporting each other because when we’re supporting each other and just having fun, that’s when we play our best.”

Varsity boys ice hockey team holds up the 2023 Wales Division Banner May 14. The team won against the reigning championships, the Denver East Angels, 9-2. It felt amazing. It really showed that, with a full group of guys, with the right mindset, we can do anything, right wing Easton Stockert 25 said. We took down the back-to-back champs, which was my personal first time ever beating Denver East.
