Abigail Wood

Abigail Wood, Assistant Editor in Chief: Photo & Camera Editor

Hi, I’m Abigail Wood, currently a senior. This will be my fourth and final year on staff. In my sophomore year, I was Social Media Manager. Then, I became Managing Editor in my junior year. This year, I am now the Assistant Editor-in-Chief: Photo & Camera Editor. I hope to make this a year full of memories and reporting. I own a 1966 VW Bug--you might've seen it in the parking lot! I love to take photos and even run my own personal photography business. I love taking sports-based photos, hockey being my favorite, and I also love taking senior and group portraits. I am a competitive swimmer and have been swimming competitively since I was 10. I hope to swim in college and I can’t wait to see where that brings me. I am a part of Quill & Scroll International Honorary Society. I can’t wait to see what the future holds this year in the media world! If you want to see it unfold, check out @rcrockmedia or @abigaiil_wood_photography, or stop by room 4113 during seventh period.

Varsity lacrosse commit Cale Maguire 24 smiles while talking to varsity soccer commit Gabby Beaudry 24 during the signing ceremony Feb. 7. Maguire committed to play for Lynn University, a Division I school in Boca Raton, Florida. I have always loved Florida and have known I will end up there, Maguire said. I’m a huge fan of the warm weather year-round. I also love how close I will be to the beach. The deciding factor as to why I chose this school is it checked all my boxes. I wanted to play lacrosse, have good academic opportunities and be in a warm area.

Looking for a player, varsity forward and captain Sienna Pillsbury 24 finds a teammate to pass the ball to Jan. 16. The team beat the Huskies 60-19. Their previous game ended in a 76-65 win against the Highlands Ranch Falcons Jan. 11, for the second time in the schools history. We have so much tension between [Highlands Ranch] because of past coaches, past teammates and that they are a rival, varsity point and shooting guard Brooke Harding 24 said. The energy was amazing and having a student section was awesome! I couldn’t fall asleep that night after we took that dub.

Stunting in front of the CHSAA poster, varsity bracer Allison Arro ‘25 holds up flyer Riley Gehrke ‘27 during the single base hand in hand Dec. 9. The single base hand in hand is considered the most difficult part of the team’s routine because it’s where they are able to score the most points in difficulty. “In cheerleading, we use a term called ‘hitting zero’,” varsity base Emerson Lindsley ‘25 said. “[It] basically means you go out and hit your routine with zero deductions, no falls, all stunts in the air, all tumbling landed. Usually, the teams that hit zero have the highest placement, since they had the least amount of deductions. Difficulty and execution are also very important point boosters in cheerleading.”
