On Oct. 30, 24 Eco Club members took a tour of the school’s solar panels on the roof. They were guided and taught by an employee from E Light Electric, the company that maintains the school’s solar panels, and learned about how the panels are maintained and cared for. “I was definitely very excited about being on the roof in general,” Eco Club member Olivia Fang ‘26 said. “[It was exciting to] learn more about solar panels and how they work and how they supply energy to our school.”

Man Poms is an annual tradition in which boys from the senior class perform at both the Homecoming Assembly and the Homecoming football game. “I joined Man Poms because it sounded fun and a lot of my friends were doing it, so I went ahead and joined. Also performing in front of the whole school sounded amazing,” Man Poms dancer Nidhay Somanchi ‘25 said. “My favorite part of performing was hyping up the crowd at the football game and at the assembly because it shows our connections with each other and our crazy school spirit.”

Powder Puff took place at Echo Park Stadium at 6 p.m. “I thought it was super special, and it was really nice to see all my friends just get together and do something really fun,” Doublet said.
A Field Full of Flag Football
Varsity football offensive guard Preston Duman ‘26 and offensive tackle Brodyn Caruso ‘26 face off with Chaparral High School (CHS) Aug. 30 at Echo Park Stadium at 7 p.m. During the game, the team averaged 321 rushing yards according to MaxPreps. “During the game I felt lots of different emotions like the excitement of a home game. I also felt very exhausted cause I played for most of the game,” Duman said.

Varsity swimmer Maxxwell Menzies '24 dives into the water for the 50 yard-freestyle during the finals at A-Leaguges May 4. Menzies was a dual sport athelte this year competing in both the mens swim and dive program in the spring but also has partipated in the Sabercats combined hockey team over the winter.

Finding Hope and Healing
During a lab in Kerry Reilly’s Chem Honors class, Millie Goblirsch ‘27 looks through a spectroscope to examine the emission spectra of a mystery element Nov. 12. Through spectral tubes and flame tests, students were able to discover the wavelengths of different elements and metals via the unique emission spectra that each element produces. “I liked the chem lab because we were able to see how certain elements reacted when energy was added,” Addison Evert ‘27 said. “Many of the flames were unique colors when the metals were added.”
Looking for Light
Ice and snow make it difficult for drivers on the road. During snowstorms, drivers have poor visibility, and frozen roads make it difficult to stay in control. “Driving home from Denver [on Friday], the neighborhoods weren’t plowed. By the time we got back they were only plowing highways. We spun out, nearly got stuck and fishtailed a few different times,” Connor Pugh ‘26 said.

WayLessSad is aiming to collaborate with Better Help and make its own hotline to be there for those who need immediate help. “Eventually I'd like to have in-house psychiatrists and psychologists that you can talk to on call whenever you need,” TeSelle said.

We just have to find the net,” defense midfielder Clara Geuzaine ‘24 said. “[Losing League] wasn’t the best. It’s better than last year and like, I know our team and we are doing really good. I don’t want to jinx it but like hopefully [we’ll do] good [in playoffs].”

In room 4101, Natalie Patterson ‘26, Ariana Magor ‘25 and Celina Salazar ‘25 create a poster in science teacher Kerry Reilly’s Chemistry Honors April 18. Ali Gustafson ‘24 accepts the “Good Citizen’s Award” in association with the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) at the Castle Pines Library Feb. 17. According to DAR Good Citizen, the award “recognizes and rewards high school seniors who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their homes, schools, and community.” Gustafson was nominated by her counselor and chose to write a two hour timed essay on Nov. 28. “I am extremely grateful to have received this award as it had heavy emphasis [on] dedication and responsibility as well as patriotism. Without my time in yearbook, I would have never been able to speak to how amazing it is to be able to exercise the First Amendment. It also meant the world to have the Kristi Rathbun, Rob Rathbun, Ms. Thomsen, Ms. Dermody and my parents in attendance,” Gustafson said.

Their previous game ended in a 76-65 win against the Highlands Ranch Falcons Jan. 11, for the second time in the school's history. "We have so much tension between [Highlands Ranch] because of past coaches, past teammates and that they are a rival," varsity point and shooting guard Brooke Harding '24 said. "The energy was amazing and having a student section was awesome! I couldn’t fall asleep that night after we took that dub."
