On Oct. 30, 24 Eco Club members took a tour of the school’s solar panels on the roof. They were guided and taught by an employee from E Light Electric, the company that maintains the school’s solar panels, and learned about how the panels are maintained and cared for. “I was definitely very excited about being on the roof in general,” Eco Club member Olivia Fang ‘26 said. “[It was exciting to] learn more about solar panels and how they work and how they supply energy to our school.”

Saanvi Kirdak ‘26 performs henna on Tvisha Hariharan ‘24 at the henna station during Walk for Wishes March 2. Students waited for their turn and sat as henna was drawn on their skin. The paste had to dry before being peeled off to reveal a variety of patterns in the form of temporary tattoos. “I really like [henna],” Hariharan said. “First of all, henna has a lot of health benefits, so it’s really nice to see it as an option for a lot of activities, especially since there’s such a large Asian community here. It’s really great to see that.”

With State President Moksha Nemalipuri ‘24 being the last one to enter the stage, this year’s State Officer Team of HOSA waves to the crowd at the opening ceremony after their introductions Feb. 19. Each state officer’s introduction was accompanied by a displayed slide with their photo and a chosen quote. Following the greeting, the state officers proceeded to welcome competing students and undergo the process of officially starting the 2024 HOSA State Leadership Conference. “It felt great being in an environment with all future healthcare professionals,” Cooduvalli said. “However, meeting the State Officer Team was the coolest part about the opening ceremony, as they all stood and spoke so confidently.”
