Maddy Merritt, Editor in Chief

Hi, I’m Maddy Merritt! This will be my third year writing for theRock, and I can’t wait for both everything you have to say and for everything our staff hopes to bring to you this year! Outside of theRock, I am an intern writer for the Castle Pines Connection and love the opportunity it provides to connect our school to our community. I am incredibly passionate about medical sciences and hope to pursue a career in cardiology, but first, I want to make the most of this year and capture as many moments as we are able to have together. This year, my goal is to put as many student voices into our content as possible, writing about all of the different experiences we’re going to have. I hope to improve my photography and writing and to keep an open mind to see all that this year will hold.

Lilliya Larson '21 smiles in her Dare to Share Your Hair t-shirt from Wish Week 2018. Larson donated 12 inches last year. "I am going to do it again this year. I liked it a lot because even if your hair is a little too short for a few weeks, I feel like you've still changed a life, and that's more important than anything on how you look because your hair will grow back, but they won't ever get hair," Larson said.

Sophomores Emma Renard and Hailey Poppler fold shirts to be packaged for Wish Kit sales. Student Council ordered about 2,600 shirts so the whole student body has a chance to buy a shirt. "It supports the Wish Kid... Everyone gets one, it's kind of a big thing," council member Berlin Barnett '21 said.
